Finding the Office
The office is in the Dupont Square complex in St. Matthews, just off Dupont Circle and a short drive from the Watterson Expressway. It is straightforward to reach from downtown Louisville, Prospect, Middletown and Jeffersontown, and from New Albany, Jeffersonville and Clarksville across the river in Southern Indiana. Suite 9A is on the north side of the square. Parking is on site.
Before You Call
Having a few things to hand makes the first call shorter.
- Your insurance card, so the staff can verify benefits. The accepted insurance plans are listed online.
- Your symptoms and how long they have been going on, which together determine whether you need a consultation first or can be scheduled directly for a procedure.
- A current medication list, particularly blood thinners and diabetes medication, because some need adjusting before a procedure.
- Your referring physician, if you have one. A referral is not always required, though some plans ask for it.
Scheduling a Procedure
Once a colonoscopy, upper endoscopy or hemorrhoid banding is scheduled, you receive the written preparation instructions for that procedure. Prep forms for colonoscopy, EGD, flexible sigmoidoscopy, TriLyte and SUTAB are available on the prep instructions page in English and Spanish. Because sedation is used for colonoscopy and EGD, arrange a driver before the day. You will not be permitted to drive yourself home.
Payment and Insurance
The practice accepts Medicare, Kentucky and Indiana Medicaid, Aetna, Anthem, Baptist Health Network, Humana, Passport by Molina Healthcare, TRICARE, UnitedHealthcare and a number of other plans. Payment is accepted by Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Venmo, Zelle, cash and check. If cost is a concern, raise it when you call and the staff will talk you through what your plan covers.
New Patients
New patients are welcome, and the practice has been serving Louisville since 1997. Complete the patient demographic form in advance if you can, in English or Spanish, to shorten your first visit.

Patients Traveling From Indiana
The office is on the Kentucky side, but a large share of patients come from across the river. Dr. Gupta holds licenses in both Kentucky and Indiana and the practice bills Medicare and Indiana Medicaid, so residents of New Albany, Jeffersonville and Clarksville are seen on the same terms as Kentucky patients. Mention where you are traveling from when you call, and the staff will take bridge traffic into account when offering you a time.
